Introduction
TinyLetter is dead.
I struggle with change. I’ve known TinyLetter was choking out its final breaths for months now, and here I am, just now getting acquainted with the replacement I chose.
Substack. There was a moment where it seemed as if Substack was going to lead to revolution in comics. Nick Spencer took the reigns, big time writers were getting big time deals, no-time writers were trying to guilt them because of Substack’s lack of censorship policies, and on and on and on.
It turned out that Substack wasn’t the new coming of Image Comics. (That is, of course, Kickstarter.) However, it seems as if it has settled into being the go-to newsletter platform for comics creators, so here I am. Throw some flowers at TinyLetter’s grave, and we move on.
Here’s what I’ll be covering in these newsletters:
My work: Whether it’s on Kickstarter or in the direct market, this will be the place to be to see what’s coming from me first.
My thoughts: I’ll chime in on the comics industry, art, crowdfunding, business, and whatever else comes up. A lot of you followed to get answers on the business of comics, and I’m here to help. I make a great living in comics during a time when I see more and more creators suggesting that such a thing is impossible. I am here to show you it’s not.
Shop drops: If you’re collecting the Destiny, NY Trading Card Game or waiting for my new comics to appear in the shop, here’s where you’ll get the notification that new drops have gone live.
Destiny, NY TCG Drops
I wanted to do a big first newsletter here first, but we do have a brand new card coming this week. It’s the first time we are offering a card as a pre-order, with orders of this one going out in early March. The card will go live in the Space Between Entertainment Etsy shop this week. Stay tuned for the drop.
Team Space Between Vlog
Since I last checked in, we’ve had quite a few episodes of the Team Space Between vlog drop. The latest is the Season One finale, where I invited the team over and promoted some of my guys to new roles in Space Between Entertainment. Catch the latest episodes here:
Live on Kickstarter from Space Between Entertainment
We have two Kickstarters currently live.
EMERALD FANTASIES: SPACE BETWEEN ANNUAL 2024
Every year, we start out our slate with a special one-shot annual. It contains three stories, including two from our top titles and introduces a brand new series. This time, we have…
Destiny, NY: Lilith is the last surviving member of a mystical crime family. She tries to navigate her new role as boss without bringing more pain to her life... or to her girlfriend, Logan McBride, who was the subject of an incredible prophecy.
Gangster Ass Barista: Trinity used to be in a biker gang, and now she works at an NYC coffee shop. She wants to leave her old ways behind, but the old Trinity just may awaken if customers keep testing her patience.
Introducing… Wild Wisps: Kingdoms clash and humans bond with mysterious creatures called Wisps that have the power to win wars... and change the world, for better or worse. This brand new series is an adult Pokémon / Digimon / Palworld set in a brutal fantasy world.
Now, over on the Cheeky Comics imprint…
PRIVATE DANCE #2
This actually ended up being our best EVER launch day in eight years of Kickstarter. I was talking to our Editor-in-Chief Shannon Lee who has been there since Day One, and she said that it’s wild how after all this time, we’re still seeing firsts. I couldn’t agree more.
I like that this happened on Private Dance. It’s no secret that the NSFW stuff does well for us, but this is a series in which I’m particularly invested. It’s an ongoing series and I plan to run it for a very long time, delving into character arcs and theme in a way that a miniseries couldn’t allow.
Private Dance takes you into a New York strip club as we meet the dancers, customers, and bouncers, discovering that there is more to the fantasy than meets the eye. At work, they create a fantasy for customers that you have to see to believe. However, when we take a closer look, there are a world of stories to explore in the real lives of these dancers.
As spicy as the topic is, you’ll find the same emotional, funny, and character-based storytelling in here that you’ve come to love in Destiny, NY. Back it here.

Welcome to the platform! What it's missing in automation and integrations, it makes up for in community. The "Notes" section is particularly good in this regard, like old Twitter with significantly less shitposting.
Hey Pat! Excited that your on substack! Large community of writers here! Lets go! 2024 will rock!
